When I was young, I used to say that the "mind" is placed on the upper part of body for it to control our emotions and decisions in life. I used to live that principle. But then, I realized that when you're trapped in a situation wherein you have to choose between your heart and your mind, I learned that the heart is oftentimes powerful than the mind.
I used to love a quote stating, "follow your heart freely and if you get lost, use your mind to go back home". Being in love with someone and being indulged to something might make you feel happy and complete, but always remember the rule in loving - to love yourself first... love yourself completely so that when it's time to share it to someone, you can give him yourself completely.
So, whether it's choosing the person to love, the friends to go with, the company you'll be applying for, the business you'll be establishing, or even the course you'll be taking, make sure that when you decide, the LOVE for yourself is there. Use your heart and your mind to decide.

ReplyDeletewhen i use my heart, i always end up with nothing. when i use my mind i'm always confused. when i use my money, haaay.. i can go anywhere. Anywhere that there's nothing to be confused to and nothing that can make me happy for a long time. =)
ReplyDeletei used to believe that the heart and the mind are 2 separate entities. now i know that my heart is a reflection of my mind. whatever my heart feels is what my mind is saying it to feel. and so i know that if my heart is holding on to something, it's the result of what my mind wants. fortunately, my mind is something i can control... i may choose to act upon what it wants and leave everything else to fate, or i may choose to divert and do what's best for everyone. the way one controls his/her heart depends on one's upbringing.
ReplyDeleteOnly few people know that all feelings we have are just a part of our brain. It just that when we feel something great or terrible the cadence of our heartbeat changes. Maybe that is how they associate deeper feelings with our heart.
